Challenge
The team at Fox Collective, a well-established Graphic Design and Branding Agency founded in 2011 are great at what they do, but the finance side of their business felt like a black hole.
As they put it, they “felt like naughty school children” with their previous accountant. They didn’t understand their accounts and so were hesitant in asking questions of their previous accountant.
They felt that their previous accountant didn’t understand them, their business or how they worked. What’s more they didn’t seem to have any interest in finding a best way to work together, they just seemed to be constantly chasing them for information.
They felt underserved and fed up.
Our Approach
Our starting point was working out what Tony & Julia wanted from an accountant, what did they value and how would they like to work?
It was clear they wanted a strong relationship, someone to whom they could ask questions, receive quick responses, and feel at ease with.
Having worked in media as an in-house accountant Sam understood that creative minds can understand figures but as with everyone they want accounts explained in a way that makes sense to them.
Taking time at the start of the working relationship to understand how they like to work, and the other time constraints they face within their business (demanding clients in fast paced industries) we put buffer time into their accounts deadlines.

The Result
Fox Collective feel like we are far more than accountants and consider us part of their team.
We can be relied on to let them know ahead of time when submissions are due, and working together to meet deadlines ahead of time takes the stress out of the process.
Getting the basics in place means that we can now support them in planning future growth of their business, working together on Fox Collective’s operational plans for the next year.
