What is Bookkeeping?

Bookkeeping is the underrated super hero of your business. It is often seen as a boring, admin task but without it is like building a house without foundations.

When done regularly and accurately, it not only ensures you maintain compliance, but adds significant value to your business. It means quality information goes in and so quality can come out, you’ll make decisions based on accurate and up to date information.

Bookkeeping is the raw data that feeds into your VAT Returns, your Year-End Statutory Accounts, and provides the base for your Budgets and Forecasts. If the Bookkeeping is inaccurate, it means all of the reports will be inaccurate. Getting the foundations right, makes everything flow more smoothly throughout the year.

Where People go Wrong…

A mistake that I see clients make is trying to do Bookkeeping themselves (and getting behind, because  let’s be honest it’s not fun! Then it becomes a much bigger task than it should be!)

or trying to find someone to do it as cheaply as possible.

As the old saying goes, “buy cheap – pay twice”.

If you skimp on Bookkeeping and the information passed to your Accountant is not good quality then your Accountant  has to spend hours unpicking mistakes before they can even start on your accounts. The upshot is it will cost you more than if you invested in good Bookkeeping at the start.

How we Work:

Within our Bookkeeping service we provide invoice capturing software. You simply email invoices, or take a photo of receipts. We do the rest!

You even have a digital copy of invoices in our records, meaning that invoices & receipts don’t get lost or forgotten about.

We use Xero, a cloud based software which means we can have meetings (either virtual or face to face), where you and I see the accounts at the same time, which makes it is far more visible and meaningful when discussing.

Get your Bookkeeping done by us, it leaves you free to focus on what you do best. Isn’t that the best use of your time?
